• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Things are starting to look interesting here this morning, already. At 5am it was 77 degrees in Boyle county with winds out of the west at 7 mph gusting to well above 15. Currently watching a rather menacing looking line west of Evansville (IN). Here's the latest mesoscale discussion from the SPC:

CONCERNING...SEVERE POTENTIAL...WATCH NEEDED SOON

VALID 081330Z - 081500Z

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS HAVE BECOME FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE STORMS AND
A WATCH ISSUANCE WILL BE COORDINATED BETWEEN THE SPC AND THE
AFFECTED LOCAL NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICES SHORTLY.

A SEVERE TSTM WATCH WILL BE ISSUED SOON FOR MUCH OF KY AND TN AND
SOUTHERN INDIANA/OH...WITH A PRIMARY RISK OF DAMAGING WINDS AND
LARGE HAIL.

MS threat

im working the kinks out on chasing this one...theres 2500-3000SBCAPE and a 0-3km EHI max of 4 and an area of 150-200 ms/s2 in the tunica/desoto county area...

i like that look...if those models are representing what is out there...the cells in AR are looking discrete...hope they stay that way...there is a SVR ww out...and im going to patrol the watch area...

The bubble I've developed this year strikes again. I just busted a squall line. The line split apart, passed over, and closed on the other side. Its still pretty dry here, and we really needed the rain.

I can't catch it now, so I'm done.

you want to talk about a bubble? what a drag...im still hoping on maybe a pulse severe cell...i was looking forward to seeing something...but now it dont look too hot...not as much shear as the mesoanalysis was putting earlier, and the whole thing looks like outflow rain exept for a few embeded storms...

well see...

That storm over Youngstown OH is INTENSE! It is capable of producing a tornado, softball sized hail and destructive winds in excess of 80 MPH!

The VIL on that storm looks pretty strong and DBZ is 65+.
