Was a good week for lightning for me; got some on the 9th on a low-key chase along the KS/CO border... then some backyard 'in-my-PJs' shots from near home over the weekend!

Finally got some little storms & lightning this month. Good to see after a summer of pretty minimal...anything at all.
A couple video frame-grabs from Sept 13:
(quality isn't real good since late-evening is tough, and these were on a storm ~29 miles out. 3.5x zoom used)

Its small and simple, but my favorite is that one that comes out of the clouds & goes back in...the way it looks & lights things up is just cool.

The Selden, Kansas storm from June 4, 2015 has to be my best lightning shots to date. The first three shots are single exposures, the fourth is two photographs stacked together, and then on the last one I think I stacked 4 or 5 consecutive photos together. The lightning was so frequent that several CGs were happening every second, making them very easy to photograph. It sucked missing out on the Simla, CO tornadofest this day, but this was at least a consolation prize
