• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

    I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

    For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

    From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

1. The 2nd-generation XM WxWorx receiver. Uses USB connectivity, still works perfectly.
2. A magnetic XM antenna with a 25 foot cord.
3. A 12V DC power cord
4. A heavy duty USB cable
5. A copy of Mobile Threat Net 1.18 on CD. A CD copy of GPS Mapping Upgrade specific for this receiver. (Recent upgrades are free from Baron, 1.39 is the newest)

Thanks Amos for the radar update. Why you selling? I'm actually thinking about purchasing for next season since I've been having problems getting Internet out in the field.

Albert, I don't chase as much anymore in areas where I would lose cell phone coverage, for one thing. I also have devices for both AT&T and Verizon (iPhone and a mobile broadband card) cell data, which extends my range. When it was more common for me to chase in places like the Nebraska Sandhills or the Dakotas, this unit was indispensable, and there were times this season I could have used it. The data plans are no-contract and you can usually talk them out of the activation fee by insisting that you're a "seasonal" user, though if you're opening an account for the first time that probably won't work.

I'm also in a selling mood lately, ha-ha. I sold my camcorder last month (my new refurb-Mark II shoots video) and after this WxWorx auction, I plan to sell one of my two mobile 2 meter radios. You collect a lot of gear over 17 years of driving around looking at clouds. I once used a huge hard shell camera case with cutout foam inside to secure equipment. The case was "NATO certified." LOL. I look at that monstrosity now and shake my head. I bet I get $25 for it on eBay.
