Compared to subjects on vehicle set up and data cards I am sure windshield wipers are low on the list for urgent input! None-the-less it is time for a new set for chase season and I am wondering what people are using.

It looks like Michelin are pretty popular, but for price and quality what goes?

I have tried the rain x latitudes and a michelin equivelant and havent cared for those type at all. They are a newer design thats supposed to be better, but I prefer the older type. I now have the basic rain x brand wipers and think they are working great.

I use the ANCO cheapies and replace at least annually. I've tried more expensive brands including rain-x and they're no better or even worse, on my vehicle. The key is frequent replacement so getting the cheapies makes sense.

I had a off-brand type similar to the RainX latitude wipers with the continuous contact style, and they worked great, got them from NAPA. They burned up with the rest of my van, so I don't remember the brand at the moment.

The current car..97 Subaru Legacy GT wagon had RainX traditional style wipers on them, and they've done really well too. I've had them through a few mud playing sessions, and they did rather well during DC's 3 major snow blizzards and more. They still seem to be in good shape. I'll likely buy a back up to keep in the car, but I see no need to replace them now...after almost 12 months of abuse.

I've used Michelins the past couple of years. Actually just put on a set last month and have put them to good use the last several days.

RainX Lattitude are deffinately the way to go, they stay on the windshield even at interstate speed, combined with a couple coats of RainX on all of the windows makes for great visability.

I guess there's no winner. I did read a review saying that they tend to wear out in 6-12 months so cheap seems to be good. Might try the Michelin ones, we'll see. I also use the rain X bug/rain repellent fluid.

I use plain old ANCO blades on my Xterra. For the rear wiper blade, I go with the NAPA 13" replacement. I've tried the Trico ones and they suck! The Michelin ones for what you pay for them, I wasn't very impressed with. When I run out of my stash of ANCOs, I probably will try a set of NAPA ones on the front to see how they perform.

I had tried some Rain-X washer fluid additive that I picked up at Wal*Mart last fall, and won't use that again!!! All that stuff managed to do is smear up the windshield......real nice in the winter when driving into work at 5:45 in the morning.....

I tried both rain-X and Bosch. While both are good, I think the Bosch are a tad better. This is because I actually bought one rain-x and one Bosch, after having the rain-x one on the driver's side, I switched to the Bosch being on the driver's side, and didn't switch back. Next time I buy both are going to be Bosch.

Yep, stay clear of the Rain-x additive/washer fluid or any fluid with the bug/dirt repellant (silicone). I had to flush that junk out but still use the standard rain-x application on the glass...much better.

I just pour some of the Rain-X bottle into the washer fluid instead of using the washer fluid additive. Has basically the same effect. :D As for wipers. I just bought some Michelin wipers, kinda like the Rain-x Latitudes a couple weeks ago, I have to say Im not at all impressed. They dont work at all like they say they do. I'll be making a trip to Walmart and going back to Triple Edge blades, I had those last year and they did great!
