Looking at the mounts from Film Tools. Anyone have one(model # please) and what is your review? Also, any other mounts people are using let me know what you think(include model #).
Scott Bennett recommended this one last year and I don't ever know how we got by without it. It works flawless and is easy to remove in a timely manner if need be. It moves around very nice too and is pretty solid.
I second what Dick said. Get one, you won't regret it. We use these in our tour vehicles and they are so sturdy that I could hang from it. (and that's saying a lot).
I have used the same mount for two years. It works very well. However check the suction from time to time by pumping it to ensure it stays stuck firmly.
I'm so glad to run across this thread -- that mount will be a huge improvement over what I'm doing now, which drives me nuts. Will be one less thing to worry about.
I use the gripper 3025 from filmtools. I love it and it stays great on the window. Very stable. Only complaint is how close the camera is to the window. Other than that it is great! A most have.
I agree 100% with the others on the gripper from film tools. I used it to film the Clarendon/Goodnight tornado and couldn't be happier. It is very easy to use and easily pans from say 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock very very easy. It is rock solid on the windshield once you get a good suction.
+1 here. We recommend this for streaming, of course, but I have found it to be useful in place of a tripod, even sticking it on the outside of the window for a quick stationary shot.
I've got the 115 and absolutely love it! I've had it on my window since December of 09 and it hasn't moved an inch! I've only had to repump the plunger every couple of months. It was a fantastic buy.
Ordered one as well after a not so successful attempt at a self-made mount. For those with a bigger camera I see they have a kit for a longer rod to put in there...fwiw. I hope my HV20 will fit fine.
I bought a plunger deal for the dash long ago but soon as I replaced my tiny TRV19 with a Sony HC1(still pretty small) it would no longer work on a small Mustang dash. Camera would hit windshield.
Kinda pumped(no pun intended) to get this. That and new headlights(covers/containers). Sadly more excited to be able to see again more than the mount.
Hope I got my order in before you guys, incase they run low lol.
Thanks for mentioning it Dick(and Scott). I'd seen those before but seeing the thread was fresh motivation to just get what works. Too bad it won't be here before Monday. Probably should have 2 day aired it I guess. Least it can't jinx Monday anyway.
