• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Hey all, just wanted to put in a plug/discussion for a Windows Mobile based application that brings weather right to your Windows Mobile Phone. Swift Mobile is made by the same company that does Swift WX.

The best feature (imho) is the storm reports which can be routed to the NWS, even with a picture attached. It's a great way to make storm reports from the field.

I put out a review on my website with lots of pictures - feel free to check it out!

It is a pretty great app. It was first shown at the Minnesota Skywarn Workshop where Rory helped me organize it and he also was a vendor there.

Pretty insane how computing power is there for that now.

little high on the monthly fee side of things if you ask me, but if I didn't have a laptop with me I'd pay. Wish it was cheaper..I soo want it..but I can't justify $15/m for something I'd use only once in a while. It's cool though, especially for a Version 1.

I agree it looks cool but the monthly is a bit too steep. Weathertap can be used for cheaper (no GPS though) for mobile stuff or you can just set up your own little mobile page (what I plan to do) to access graphics quick.

The pricing is probably to test the waters since it's a new product. I did that at AllisonHouse because I didn't know what the market was willing to pay for that kind of service. It's physcological for me...once the price comes down a couple bucks I'll probably do it. I think the other weather on your phone apps are between $5 and $10/m so this isn't too far off...looks better than the ones I've played with.

I really like the reporting feature - kind of amazing that the NWS allowed for such integration. You can almost bet that any other (for-profit) company would never allow it. I agree with Tyler though, I hope that the price comes down as the market is established and cost vs profit is better assessed & realized.

Hi all,

Thanks for the feedback. Here are some images I took a few days ago using a screen-capture feature in 1.1:

Bravo, man! I'm writing an article right now for PocketPC and Smartphone magazine about storm chasing and using the PPC. I will not only subscribe, but PROMISE this will be featured there. Excellent work...the today page plugin alone is tooo cool!
