A member in the stormtrack discord sever asked this question and I thought it would also be good to have a discussion of it on the stormtrack forums. Plus I had the question myself since I noticed when the SPC talked about MCSs they talked about them moving on a CAPE gradient. What I understood was there's usually more shear and lift along the gradient. Can anyone eleborate?
