Warm Arctic tied to bigger storms in eastern U.S.

A new study finds a strong correlation between a warm Arctic and big winter storms in the eastern U.S., similar to the three in the last couple weeks. It is also suggestive of a correlation between a warm Arctic and warmer and dryer weather in the U.S. west as has occurred in most recent years, except last year.
