Had to finally break my rule of not posting political statements on social media after some idiot posted that the next Administration is going to cripple or completely shut down the NOAA -- endangering the entire US. There has been ZERO comments from anyone in politics (left or right) seeking to do this. It's an obvious attack directed towards Elon Musk and X, because he's been selected to cut Government waste. People are out of their fricking minds and do not seem to understand the American people are tired of these petty, fake attacks on people they don't agree with. It's sad it's spilled over to meteorology.

It seems the BS crowd are getting bored in the echo chamber, so every now and then, one of them lobs a shi_ ball hand grenade back over to X to try and renergize some of the excitement and responses they once had there.

Was that on BlueSky? I maybe spent 10 minutes surveying whatever was on the top level feed and exited stage right, never to return. And that was BEFORE the election. Thankfully, I don't spend much time on TwiX either, for that matter. This forum is pretty much the extent of my "social media presence".

BS is basically becoming Twitter before there were checks and balances and grossly false and damaging posts were removed. You can basically say anything you want on BS and it can become a viral cesspool of fake information. I honestly believe a large portion of the general public is incapable of reason, or sorting fact from fiction. Free and open forums are quickly dominated by fringe groups, professional mass posters and bots.

What goes on in social media is unique compared to the people I know. Or maybe those people have faces they don't show me. Maybe it's like the Portrait of Dorian Gray--while people appear unchanging on the face of things, social media demonstrates the corruption growing in their hearts.
