Amazing shots! Earlier this month it seemed like we were knocking it out daily with Midwest sunrise/sunset opportunities. These are from Shelbyville Illinois on the 14th and 15th. Per the 15th foreground, there was a minor ice shove occurring as result of a thin layer being blown onshore by gusty SW winds.
Considering there have not been very many convective opportunities so far for myself this year, I figured I'd dust the camera off for a sunset on the 1st of April. We had some big field fires earlier in the day so the sunset was quite orange looking and reminded me of one I'd see on a hot summer evening.
Saw a couple of pics of the annular Solar Eclipse. Very nice! Was in Hobbs, NM viewing it...but didn't have a good camera at the time. Best birthday eclipse ever
Anywho, here is one of my better sunset pics taken on Black Friday 2013 in Gulf Shores, AL.
