• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

I've been using F5 Data for maybe ten months now. I went from recognizing its potential but feeling a bit frustrated with it--partly because it was kinda buggy, partly because I just didn't know how to use it--to really liking F5 and relying on it.

Andy Revering recently upgraded this forecast product, and the change is nothing short of a quantum leap. The new look is polished and, frankly, beautiful; there are a few more truly useful bells and whistles, such as historical data and a calculator; and the addition of 384-hour GFS to the model suite makes this thing the Absolute Bomb. I think Andy has still got a few things he's going to add--the surface map and the map plotting features are disabled right now--but seriously, you really ought to check this thing out.

Yep, I'm plugging this product shamelessly. And nope, no one is slipping me any payola. I'm just a believer, and you will be too once you give F5 a test drive.

I've been a subscriber to Andy's F5 product since its inception when it was an all web-based service. Over the years it has evolved into a helluva nice stand-alone program and I'm not ashamed to say I have set more than a few chase targets based on his proprietary APRWX composite models in a pinch.
The latest offering does indeed include the GFS in addition to NAM-WRF and RUC (with historical data too!). Within the program you have the ability to build custom maps using over 160 different products allowing endless comparison tools. It also sports a gridded sounding map that gives the most specific info I have ever seen.
Radar, Satellite and watch/warning overlays are icing on the cake.
There are many more features I could sit here and write about but you would be better off just going to the website and seeing the offering for yourself: http://www.f5data.com/

One side note, there is a support forum for users that Andy is very involved with. If there are features or problems, they are addressed very quickly. We discuss a forecast or two there too occasionally.
Support a fellow chaser and check out his service - you'll be glad you did!
Another shameless plug!
