Myself and Brandon Goforth traversed down to SW Oklahoma to get a look at things down in the Hobart - Altus area. Here are a couple of YouTube vids I put together:

Hey very nice pictures/reports guys. I'm truly jealous of the wide range of intense weather you all get down there in Oklahoma. :)

Played around with a fisheye in the backyard last evening.

Had fun with this one. No editing other than cropping and adding the watermark. This was an accident as I was on lazy auto mode and wanted to shield the flash. Using my index finger and middle finger paired together, just enough flash made it through the flesh between them to put off the red hue. Only thing I wish is I had a tripod for this particular shot. Would have been a lot sharper. Next time, next time...

Totals at our place 5mi E of Moore: 1/3" Ice, 1 1/2" Sleet, 7" Snow

I have finally had the chance to do a (very) quick and (very) dirty edit on some of my images from the past couple of days. While this past weekend's winter weather event in Conway will have broken no records for snow depth, ice accumulation or anything else for that matter - it sure was nice to finally get some frozen precipiation, and to have the weekend off work to allow us to enjoy it.

I guesstimate we received about 4" of snow on top of about .5" of an ice/sleet mixture - I was too lazy to get out in our yard with my ruler and dig around in the icy slush to find out exactly how much accumulation we had but I'm sure LZK's homepage will have it on there somewhere......still, it made for some beautiful shots in the snow and ice, and allowed me to get my feet wet with photography again which can't be a bad thing.

Due to forum restrictions, I could only upload five images, and they're all thumbnail sized. I have all the images online on my Blog at Open Door.

I also headed down to the hard hit areas of southwestern Oklahoma today. I headed west on highway 62 at Chickasha and eventually, after taking a large circle through Caddo, Kiowa, and Comanche Counties ended back at Chickasha. Here are some ice accumulations I measured in certain areas and a few pictures as well. I also have hourly observations during the winter storm from Norman, and a few pictures on my very primitive website. I will add more pictures from today in the next day or two. http://weather.ou.edu/~ckuster/ice_storm.html

Picture taken about 6 miles west of Gotebo.

Verden: .7" of ice.

Anadarko: .8" of ice. I first noticed power lines and a few power poles down just west of town.

Fort Cobb: .6" of ice. There seemed to be an area of lower ice accumulations extending from Fort Cobb to near Mountain View (.7" of ice). Tree and power line damage was not as severe as well.

4 miles west of Gotebo: 1.1" of ice. Several poles down.

Hobart: ~1" of ice. Picture from town: http://i49.tinypic.com/o8cljk.jpg

The worst area I came across was between Hobart and Roosevelt on Highway 183. Dozens of this type of power pole (http://i48.tinypic.com/5x1tv9.jpg) were snapped and I measured a 1.5" ice accumulation 2 miles north of Roosevelt. Two pictures from that area follow:
http://i49.tinypic.com/v3zo9e.jpg http://i49.tinypic.com/ojpjps.jpg

Ice accumulations quickly dropped off south of Roosevelt and only measured .6" at Mountain Park, and even less (about 1/4") at Snyder.

Ha, just found a video clip of the snow from the station I chase for. Meteorologist Bri Winkler was out in it giving updates and having fun!

A little late on the posting these, but I went out to a park near Norman and took some pics after dark on the 29th. Here are a couple
