Rechargeable Batteries. Any Recommendations??

Needing to change my AA rechargeable battery supply. Was very happy using Powerex batteries however, I have been having huge problems with them holding a charge now. (all 24) Emails to customer support have not been returned.
Any recommendations on a rechargeable setup would be greatly appreciated. I mostly use AA batteries.

I have bunch of Duracell rechargables that have been working great.

I'll second the Duracells. The charging only takes about 10 minutes and the batteries last for over a month in my digital camera.

Look for Eneloop cells (Circuit City, Wal-Mart, etc.). They will hold a charge a lot longer than standard NiMh cells. There are also some new "hybrid" cells showing up in the big box stores. I believe its Energizer that has the "hybrid" cells in Wal-Mart. The Eneloops are made by Sanyo IIRC.

I've been using the same 12 energizer Nimh ( 2100 to 2300 mAH) for 2 1/2 years. They are mainly used in the handheld scanner now, which is on at least 12 hours a day. During the first year they also got used in a Canon Power Shot daily .
I've tossed 4 during this time but the 12 are still giving me over 36 hours in the scanner each go around still. Not sure if that is close to normal or not though.

I use Rayovac's hybrids (supposed to have a shelf life up to 4x greater than regular NiMH rechargables). Got mine off eBay but I know some big retailers sell them.

These guys seem to be the gurus of batteries. Alot of useful information posted.
For my needs I am going to give the Eneloops a try.(slow self discharge) I just ordered 12 AA batteries and a charger from Amazon for $35.

I still don't want to give up on my Powerex batteries since they were a bit more costly and I have lots of 'em. My problem may be with one of the chargers and not the actual cells. Since I am still on vacation next week I will have time to recondition them all and test the chargers.
