Radio Genres and Severe Wx Coverage

I know there are lists of AM/FM radio stations across Tornado Alley, but does anyone have experience with which actual genres of radio are more likely to provide weather coverage during severe events? Back in my home state of Indiana, there was a tendency for oldies and classic rock to cut in with live coverage more frequently than say, pop or country. I like to use terrestrial radio as a ancillary source of information, usually for less vital information such as power outages, etc.

Here in OKC it's hard to find a station that doesn't go to wall-to-wall coverage when there's a tornado outbreak ongoing in metro area.

Ben's right. Most radio stations in OKC are affiliated with one of the major news stations. I think there are 3 or 4 alone just on FM that carry KFOR's audio during tornado outbreaks. It's similar in Tulsa as well, although up there I just throw the AM dial on 740 and call it a day.
