Great stuff as always Joe. Was considering putting the laptop desk back into the car for next season, but I may now be convinced to stick with the tablet.

Joe, this is the part of the thread where I beg you to make a port of your app for Windows Phone 8. I'm truly begging! Long time Android user, but just made the jump to WP8...

Does PYKL3 Radar smooth images or are they raw? I'm tempted to ditch the laptop and just use a fancy smartphone this year.

I'm stuck between PYKL3 and RadarScope.

FWIW, I'm another dedicated Windows phone user, as well. Have been the last 4 years and will continue Windows Phone into the foreseeable future. However, for larger and broader use technology (tablets/notebooks), I'm open to other options but not so much Android. I really like my small MacBook Pro for mobile use. It's durable, not too small, not too big, very fast to wake and connect, great battery life, etc. However, for HD desktop performance usage, I'm devoted to Windows 7 and have no intention of moving to Windows 8

If you are all about performance on your desktop, you'll want Win8.
I haven't looked deeply into Win8 for desktop. All I know is it looks like it was built from the ground up as a "consumer/entertainment motivated" OS. I run 64 bit OS Win 7. I need one where I will not have any performance setbacks trying to run Lightroom and Photoshop and X-Plane (flight sim). Maybe I need to study up on Win 8 more in depth

EDIT: I read a recent CNET review, and a few other minor reviews. I'm sticking with Win 7 to run my needs in a desktop workhorse. I just don't see enough gains to justify the learning curve. However, I am of the opinion Microsoft has gone a long way to improve mobile performance (wake and connect speed) and I can see my next tablet or notebook purchase being a Win 8 device.
