• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

    I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

    For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

    From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

PatchMaster Lightning Trigger

thats the problem Jim I don't know what to set the shutter or aperture to, to make this thing work and my instructions are somewhere in Murfreesboro at my apt.

Oh, Sorry. Well on that part the guide would be a basic guide. During the day you will have to meter out or take a shot using the auto settings and use those as a guide for your manual set up. Even at night if you want to add landscape to your shot you would want to up your exposure time to expose the landscape, same with a city setting. F: settings will be highly dependent on lightning distances as well.

I have had little or no chance to test this thing here this year but I did get to throw it on this evening for a few minutes just before the rain set in. It allowed me to grab this shot that would have caused me to burn up a whole herd of pictures otherwise and probably still miss the shot.

Ordered on Sunday, and it was in my hands yesterday morning! Nicely built unit, tested today and it works awesome.

Great service - thanks Erkan!

Great pictures! Seems like the device works exactly as it says and, judging from your picture, gets great results.

Have you added a pass-through socket so that the Nikon cable shutter release can be used in tandem with the PatchMaster Lightning Trigger yet? My current PatchMaster model doesn't have one and the Y-cable that I purchased from a different source doesn't recognize the PatchMaster.

@Bryan,

You are welcome. Please keep us updated with the results.

@Dave,

Yes we provide Interchangable cable support in this version. So that you can use the same device with different cables and so with different cameras.

Regards..

Think of all the wonderful photos you could capture using the sound trigger, perhaps the finest would be of chasers as they react to the sudden and slightly unexpected violent clap of thunder. There's a social project in the making.

Ill just stick with the lightning detector for now...
