• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

PatchMaster Lightning Trigger

Has anyone purchased and received this thing yet? I showed it to a friend who ordered it a couple weeks ago but has yet to receive it.

He figured $100 he was game, I was.... I want to see yours first :)

yes I ordered one for my dad for christmas around the first of December, and I believe it showed up about 10 days later. It's coming from Turkey so be patient.

Just ordered one for my camera last week.

well then, i ordered my lightning trigger last wednesday and it just showed up this morning!

I bought a lightning trigger from pmgadgets last spring.

Allthough my first unit was to sensitive, i received a very helpfull and professional service from Erkan. He first sent me a new microcontroller and then offered to replace the whole unit afterwards.

The new unit has worked flawlessly. I can highly recommend the product.

Scott, has your friend received theirs yet? I am still waiting on mine but that is not unusual based on things I have ordered from Hong Kong and the likes on Ebay having taken up to 3 weeks before.

Have you tried emailing him Jim? He's been very quick to respond to emails when I bought one for my dad. Both the ones I ordered came via DHL, and always within 14 days of ordering.

Oh yes, he has been very responsive to contact from day 1, no problems there. I have a tracking number and such and according to that tracking number it was sent the day he said it was but it is still MIA. I know that sometimes overseas stuff sometimes seems to get lost for weeks, or forever :( . I was just asking Scott to see if that one had been received to get a feel for the normal delivery times for review purposes.

Could be hung up by the continuous bad weather on the east coast. Does the tracking even say it reached the US?

I bought an item from Evan Bookbinder and he sent it to me before Christmas via USPS and he had a tracking number. The same thing happened there - it showed as being accepted but the first I knew it was here was a card in my letter box (it was too big to fit). The Post Office then didn't want a signature even when I challenged them saying it was tracked.

So I think some of the Postal Services tracking systems don't work very well internationally beyond giving you confidence that a package is at least on the way

Nope, Still at and has been since the 12th. Not sure what that means unless it disappeared in that post office.

i would call the Post Office or DHL and see what the story is. I know if a shipment from overseas gets sent at the wrong time, it gets held up in customs for a few weeks (container searches that are backlogged) as some containers get searched for drugs, nukes, etc, and others do not. if they come through at the right time, they don't get held up.

My friend never got his, contacted the seller and was given an almost instant refund.

No offer to reship :(

would try to order another one. i got both of the one's i ordered, so probably just a shipping issue with DHL. if he got a refund, that's a clue that the seller has lots of integrity.

PatchMaster Lightning Capture! Version 2 is in the market. New version comes with

  • a smarter case
  • slide switch instead of rocker switch
  • enhanced firmware (day/night detection for self calibration)
  • enhanced front panel for increasing the sensitivity

Does this new version's "smarter case" move the device forward with respect to the shoe connector such that one can now look through the view finder? I'm game if this issue has been resolved.

Thanks in advance,
Evan
