New Here but not to Weather!

Hi All,
I just got my approval to post here recently here but have been a longtime lurker. :) Anyway, I am in my mid 40s and ive in the metro KC area and have witnessed many weather events. I have been following weather for over 30 years. At age 11, I got my first weather radio... It was a transistor type. I now possess a Midland weather radio.

I enjoy tracking all kinds of weather, especially severe weather. During severe weather outbreaks, you can often find me sitting at my computer tracking storms. Like some of you, I don't drive so tracking online is the second best thing. I enjoy photographing weather form my backyard. I have a huge collection of weather photos. I am hoping to go on my first chase this spring. My dream is to photograph a classic supercell. :)

BTW, I recently purchased Tim's Storm Chasing Handbook. Great book chalked full of valuable info!

Kristi

Also new here

I have chased several times with a veteran chaser over the last couple of years and this year may venture out on my own as well as with any other KC metro chasers that need help with expenses.
I still have a lot to learn regarding terminology and forecasting as I am in the medical field, not a met. Reading the postings on this site for quite some time has helped to increase my knowledge so thanks all for your informative posts.

Well from one ST Newbie to the others, Welcome. Glad to see all the new persons. As most of you know, or will find out. This group is full of some very knowledgable and experienced people. Even though I chase with a very knowledgable and talented group. I always learn something when I log in.

P.S. Jason, a special welcome from one public servent turned truck driver to another...also was an army vet. Thanks for the info on the TWW...

Mike Weiss, I'm glad to see you finally made it buddy! We all need to get back together and chase sometime. I had a lot of fun with you guys in KS last year. Again, welcome aboard!

Hey Jason...Yeah I am lookin forward to being the only bright yellow truck this year, instead of people asking me, Are you Jason? Maybe we can get another marathon chase with Jay going...:D

Hi, I'm Sara and I'm from the St. Louis, MO area. I've been a huge fan of severe weather since I was a kid and my passion for it continues to grow. I'm hoping to take a local Skywarn class soon. I am also seriously considering going to SLU for meteorology. I look forward to learning from everyone on here.

After two years of lurking around here I have finally joined. I look forward to actually posting some now :)

Hello everyone

Hi everyone. My name's Amy and I live in Lawrence Kansas. I grew up in Nebraska and have always been crazy about weather. I have no formal training in meteorology, except for a few classes in college. All my knowledge is just from reading and experiencing severe storms. I'm looking forward to reading what you all have to report here. We're looking at a pretty serious weather event in my neck of the woods this afternoon/evening.

Welcome to ST Ashley, Kristi, Jeri, Dallas, Sara, Alex, and Amy. I hope you all enjoy the forums as much as I have the past year. You can find the answer to almost any question about storm chasing on here. Any of you chasing today?

Good day to all! I'm Charles Loring and am a HS student who is fully planning on attending Western Kentucky and major in meteorology. I also would hope to do some chasing for them once I start attending. I am one who is eager to learn about weather...especially severe weather. But all branches of weather fascinates me.

Greetings all. I live in Kansas City, MO and as have some of the others, I have been lurking here a couple years. If ever any of the chasers needs one more panicked/awe stricken voice in the background to add color to their shots, drop me a line. :-)

New Girl hanging around!

I am a newbie! :pI have never been on a chase, but maybe someday I will have the opportunity. I have been a freak about tornadoes for about 12 years now. I am fascinated yet scared to death of them. Not sure how you can be both but I am! I moved to Tennessee 12 years ago from Michigan which would explain why I started to really focus on weather. I love learning everything I can about storms; I think it actually helps my phobia at the same time. I stumbled across this site and love it! Who knows maybe one day I will get the chance to chase a storm.. I think if I could face a tornado maybe I wouldn’t be so scared of them!! I am excited about learning from everyone on here and reading about your chases!

Hello everyone! I'm new...came across Stormtrack a couple years ago and have been a fairly active reader since. I enjoy the forecasts, reports, and abundance of knowledge provided here. I'm 33 and have been fascinated by nasty weather for as long as I can remember. I live in the Arklatex region and enjoy going out photographing and observing severe weather here, with a road trip now and then on active days. Thanks so much for all the shared information...especially on photography.
