• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

This time of year I'm going through my chasedata site and adding new links and getting rid of old ones. I love to browse the internet for new sites that I can use. I came across an SPC HRRR Model Browser site that I've never seen before. I also like to look for newer precip/reflectivity, satellite and surface data sites that I can use for chase season. Have any of you guys stumbled upon newer/updated sites that you liked?

This is a satellite loop that I use mostly on my IPad. I haven't found a better one myself. If you have a better one though, please post it.

Not only does the above site have much better resolution (without making the image size too large), it also has a ton of sector views (which keeps the physical image size from being too large for a tablet on the higher resolution products).

Thanks Jeff! I just took it for a test drive and the resolution is much better. Not having to load the whole U.S. And then zoom to the area you want is a huge plus too. I just deleted the other one.

Jeff - how do you loop that? And the status page says they are losing data ;)

Hi Dale. I don't know how quick Jeff will be getting back to you, but using my IPad, I clicked on Jeff's link and on the lower right hand side of the page is a list of "quick links". Clicking on those went right to looping for me. Maybe a computer problem? I didn't try it on my desktop, but on the IPad it works good.

The message makes it seem like a temporary loss of data. If it's just snow accumulating on a dish, I doubt that will remain a problem throughout spring and summer. I don't think there are any major bureaucratic changes going on at CoD, so I wouldn't worry about availability.

To loop, click on a product within that drop down menu on the left side of the page and display something. Once displayed, click the product menu button across the top of the image and select a looping product and loop length.

I used this site to view satellite loops on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (or whatever it was called) while chasing last year and had no problems.

The number of available sectors is dependent on the scale of the product. For the regional and hemispheric products, there are only a handful of sectors each. For the 1-km visible satellite products, however, there are about as many sectors as there are US states.
