What are we looking at here??
A tornado hit east of Pampa, Tx a couple of weeks ago and we were there to catch it. Thing is, I'm not sure if the tornado is in the rotating rain that is seen on the right, or the funnel on the left, which was actually over the damaged houses. We thought we'd caught a very minor tornado in the field, and had no idea that there was another out there. The news reported damage due to winds and hail the day of....but then the next day, they reported that it was tornado damage. I didn't know the damage was less than two miles from where we'd been filming. We drove through the area last week and saw the houses that we'd seen on TV...which were less than two miles from where we were filming. I took a look at the video and can't really decide if that is a rain shaft and a funnel, or two tornadoes, or .....what?? Does rotating rain constitute a tornado? I know the funnel has to be the tornado that they're talking about on the news, it's in the right spot, and was visible for the length right length of time......ugh!
Meanwhile, we were reporting to NWS on the radio and I honestly couldn't be sure about it. You can't see a debris field....
PS Pardon my crazy movement...I'd been hit by a car while on my bike and had a sprained ankle and was trying to film while facing backward in the back seat while moving down the road. And I am still trying to work out the video editor, I don't know how to cut and splice yet.
