Max Amp or WeBoost

Clayton,

Did you ever lose your signal Monday???

Eric
At no time did I ever loose LTE signal while using the 4g-m on Monday well NW of Boise city. If your trying to decide which amp to buy unfortunately I can't help you as I have not compared the weboost with Gordon's amp. I will say that I have about 15 of Gordon's older 3G amps in service in a public safety application and they work well often surpassing the performance of the older Wilson 3G amps.

Thanks! I own a Wilson Sleek 4g right now but looking to buy another for another vehicle. I lost my signal for a big chunk of the day Monday in that area. I dont think the weboost cradle will be much better but the 4g-x has me intrigued. Can you tell me the exact Larid that you bought??

Thanks!

Larid TRA6927M3NB-001 mounted with permanent NMO mount on the roof of my truck. I use these antennas on many fire and EMS vehicles, they are tough and perform well.

Laird makes great antennas . I will put my 13 inch mag mount against any antenna on the market . That is my best dollars to performance antenna.. It outperforms it's specs.

Hey friends! Just bought a Weboost 4g-X and it arrived today. I currently have the Sleek 4g in my car.

I have the 12 inch amtenna and it has done well but I am looking to update.

What are some better antenna options for the 4G-X and my Subaru Outback???

Does anyone roll with different antennas with different gains on their roof and just switch them out of the amp at different times?

I've had relatively good success with the Laird Phantom antenna found here. The previous link is the company page that has data specification sheets and the frequencies covered, as well as other pertinent information. If you were interested in purchasing one, you can go here to get the model you need with the correct cable terminations and so forth.

Here's a third option just in case. It's from a company called WirEng and from what I hear their antennas are all that and a bag of chips. I was thinking about getting one and doing what you're suggesting David, using different antennas at varying times. Anyhow, for those interested you can check out the WirEng's here.

Thanks for the help Mark! Right now Weboost (wilson) is telling me their little 4inch antenna is better for data than anything else I can buy. I asked about 12inch mag's, NMO's, etc. Do I believe them?

I've tried the stubby (stock) antenna in one of the local national forests that of course had lots of hills and trees but somehow the aftermarket one worked better. I've never tried it say in Kansas. But I've never lost signal anywhere, yet.

The FCC rules dictate that amps sold as kits with an antenna are designed to work together best, so you can believe them when they say they're a matched set. However, getting an aftermarket antenna is half the fun and you can definitely benefit from carefully choosing another one. There are new LTE bands coming online all the time so it makes sense to have a current model that covers those bands, not to mention a modem setup that covers them as well.
