Has anyone come across a laptop stand which is sturdy, does not interfere with airbag deployment and allows for a front seat passenger? I ordered a Ram I though would work but the extension pole took up much of the passenger side leg room. I drive a 2004 Jeep Liberty.....thanks

Thanks Steve......unless I am wrong, it sounds like it is comfortable for a passenger only when the top is taken off. In other words, it is comfortable with just the base still in place. I didn't get the impression it was right seat passenger friendly when fully assembled with the computer in place.....your thoughts?

This may sound "ghetto" but I have a laptop stand I built using 2" PVC pipe, a toilet flange attached to plexiglass glass cut to the shape of my laptop. The laptop has Velcro attached to the bottom and Velcro on the plexiglass glass. It holds well, easy to remove laptop from stand, and stand from my car. Making your own would enable you to have something better suited for your vehicle, I can upload pictures of mine if you wanted to see an example.

What about the type of stands that are in police cars? It's a little crowded on the driver's side but the passenger side you can't even tell there is a mount there.

I would love to see some pictures of your setup. I was thinking creating my own would be the way to go as well.

Thanks for this info, I am looking for a laptop mount too but thought the RAM was a bit over my budget.

I built my own out of some scrap wood. Basically I have a piece that slides between the passenger seat and center console, with a platform on top of that with 3/4" trim along the edge to keep the laptop in place. Total cost was $2 for that trim. It is actually pretty stable with some additional "shims" slid in between the seat and console, and extremely portable! Worked pretty well for me last night, but will not work with a passenger. I couldn't find any kind of swivel piece to allow the laptop to be turned toward the passenger.
