Is this a mistake by the noaa?

AT 437 PM MST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUED TO
INDICATE A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM OVER NORTHERN PINAL COUNTY CAPABLE
OF PRODUCING DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH UNTIL 5 PM. LOCATIONS
MOST LIKELY TO BE AFFECTED INCLUDE FLORENCE JUNTION AND QUEEN VALLEY

What do yhey mean by untill 5 pm? How do they know the storm still wont be severe after that? Are they meaning the storm is collapsing or dissapating and can have severe winds untill it falls apart? or is this a mistake of wording by the noaa?

Storm still looks pretty strong on radar in AZ.

They probably mean that is how long the warning goes for.....just guessing. Then they can re-issue it if it is needed. Pretty sure that is how it works.

That warning is specific to that county. Based on the speed of the storm they are expecting it to be out of the warned area by 5pm. A seperate warning will be issued (if needed) for the next county down the line.

Or it could mean theyre shutting the weather machine off at 5 pm!!

LOL.

Did everyone hear about the new warning criteria they started using this year? They had to lower the warning criteria for the 2006 season.
