Huge Photography Competition!!!

Vote is in, especially because I chased that cell and I remember your post in the RPTS thread saying that your car was demolished. Mind that hail! ;)

Sorry about the damage, Adam. That was actually my first storm chase ever, so it was quite a site for me as well! I probably saw you at one point. I did see a car pulled over with definite damage to the windshield where highway 52 turns to the west, south of Fort Morgan while I was on my way to take pictures. And if that wasn't you, then I probably met you where you took that picture, because as I said I can recall that same exact scene in my memory. Deja Vu! Great day minus your damage!

Good luck on the contest!

I think in the grand scheme of things these photos do not look terrible as far as photoshop is concerned. Except for the Octopus House. I'm not just this huge HDR atheist, but the post processing is by far too much on that one. And it is amazing to me the kind of comments I've heard about it! People think it is the most beautiful and incredible photograph they have ever seen! Anyways, those are my thoughts. My favorite teen image is mine, "Green Supercell", and my favorite adult one is "Isoceles Peak". Please remember to vote for me, Adam Adkins, "Green Supercell"! Thanks so much!

I do realistic HDR work myself, and am always annoyed by those who do the "grunge" method that looks like some sort of psycho clown puke. Shooting HDR of a fast moving storm front or tornadic cell is very hard, and I was able to pull of a couple this last spring, but many of my attempts were foiled by distortions caused my cloud movement.

Like I said previously, you came away with a wonderful looking composition. I met several chasers who were right where the action was and was terribly disappointed by the quality of their shots. Yours truly has that "you are there" feel that other favorite photographers such as Ryan McGinnis, Mike Hollingshead and the late Eric Nguyen took.

Fantastic shot once again! I'll have to see what else you've captured!
