• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

How Much data does GR3 Pull Down - Mobile Broadband Question

I am about to sign up for the ATT GoPhone Mobile broadband option ( tethering a moto slvr, spoke with ATT they said its 100% do-able and they suggest doing it that way )

however, the $20 a month plan is for 100MB, or so it says, with $0.01 per kb over that 100MB. . .

My question is, How much does Gibson Ridge pull down per sweep, and is 100MB reasonable? Or will I need to throw down . . say 3 months worth up front to avoid overages.

Thanks

It is now my understanding that if you choose the option - GoPhone Unlimited Media Net for $19.99 a month, if you tether the phone, it enables full web browsing and internet connection capabilities.

Prepaid data is a very bad choice at this time and 100 mb is not enough data . Why not go postpaid and get unlimited data for $20 a month with no contract ?

This is supposed to be the Post - Paid data plan.

Do you have any other suggestions.

Thanks

It might work out well if you use it for only one day, but i would imagine that you would eat through 100MB pretty quickly if your going to be using your internet heavily. I think L3 has a really lite footprint and shouldent tax you too hard, but you have to consider. If your doing anything on the internet your going to be sucking your bandwidth down. I chose a post-paid unlimited deal because i just didnt like the idea of having a "ceiling".

If the ATT gophone card works it seems like something worth doing. I like the idea and convienience of paying for a $20 card when a storm day shows up. That way i dont have to pay $61 bucks every month for something that i dont even need to use unless theres a storm. Considering some months are more active then others, it might save or cost you some money in the long run. Who knows.
