Hello, Stormtrack.

I want to detail the first of several substantial changes to Stormtrack that will be coming, mostly over the next few months. The staff has a lot of really neat ideas in store to introduce to the community, but first things first.

We have begun a change in host for the site. Currently, stormtrack.org is hosted at AWS. But Xenforo (the software vendor) also offers hosting, and we have elected to shift in that direction for numerous reasons (cost and ease of support from the same set of people among the biggest).

What this means for the site is that it may go down at some point during the holidays. We hope that the migration will be finished by 1 January 2024. Sometime during that period, the site is likely to go down as the switch occurs. Beyond that, you probably will not notice anything.

Happy holidays, and we will provide the next major update announcement likely within the next few weeks.

Jeff
