• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

As some of you already know, yesterday morning, Darin Brunin and his girlfriend Alexis Sullivan, were woken up to a fire that was triggered by lightning in Lawrence, Kansas, which consumed the top apartments where they lived and left their apartment uninhabitable. Fortunately, two good samaritans rang all of the resident's door bells in the building, giving them all enough time to escape, unharmed. Here is a link to the story.

According to the fire department, they have lost pretty much everything and unfortunately didn't have any insurance. They both have received support from the Red Cross and have been temporarily moved to another apartment, but still lack a lot of essential goods for their new home (including clothes) . It is to my understanding, that they will not be able to return to the apartment to see what's left/salvageable for another week, until a structural engineer evaluates the scene.

Unknown to them, I am asking anyone who wishes to contribute to their devastating loss, to send funds to my paypal address: [email protected]

You may also email myself at the same address to give Darin and Lexi any support or encouragement, and I will pass it along to them. If you wish to donate anything else, please PM me or email me and I will send you an address to where you can send something.

If you can not do this, I fully understand (as would Darin and Lexi). Thank you so much to everyone who have already given their sympathies to Darin and Lexi; they are both thankful for all of those who have been so kind to them and have given them the support they need.

Thanks for setting this up Dick! I can't do much, but sent what I could.

I went through a fire when I was a kid, and it was horrible. We also lost every posession we owned, and I vividly recall just how sad and confusing the whole situation was. I'm glad to hear that no one was hurt, and will be adding my prayers for them.

Dick,

Please email me directly. I'd like to send a check directly to them.

Dick, I went ahead and posted that info on my blog, hope thats alright as well?
Also, I would like to send something to them directly as well. Is there an address that you can give publically? If not shoot me an e-mail please.
Thanks,
Lan

Losing everything in a fire is a hard thing to deal with. That is almost as bad as losing someone close to you. Your home has alot of meaning and to have it taken away is hard to deal with. I am sorry to hear what happened to Darin Brunin. To help him through his difficult time I sent some money. I will pray for him and his girlfriend tonight.

Thank you all guys, I am going to email each one of you here later tonight or tomorrow who have sent money, and offered help in any way possible. I am heading over to Darin's here in the next few minutes to give him some supplies and clothes I rounded up for him. Words can not describe how much this means...from everyone's support that you've given Darin and Lexi over the last couple of days.

I cannot pass up on this... so here's a little something for Darin. I know Darin's a good person, although I've never met him in person, but what he did for Greensburg was outstanding. He has helped and now he needs help. It's the least I could do.... I don't know what it's like to lose everything, but I bet it is very upsetting. I am just glad that they are okay!

Dang, hate to hear. Can't afford to send any money (very limited income), but will prayers help? Just glad they're okay. Homes and belongings can be replaced, lives can't. :(
