As cool as ultrasonic anemometers are, they are cost prohibitive for me when they start out around $1000. Course there is one exception, the hand held Davis WindScribe is about $130. But all the mountable ones get pricey quick.

With the money some people spend on this forum for storm chasing I wouldn't be surprised if someone indulged in such a devise. So I'd figure I'd throw out the question and see...
