Chasing community,
If you’re out chasing, you’re in a unique position to capture some of the most valuable hail observations available. We invite you to contribute your hail reports to the ICECHIP database and help improve our understanding of severe hail events. We’re especially interested in accurate measurements, not estimates. When possible, please report:
Submit your reports here: ICECHIP Hail Report Form
Sample of submitted reports from an IOP in 2025: 6-6-2025 ICECHIP Reports
Accurate data from the field makes a difference—thanks for your help!

We invite you to contribute your hail reports to the ICECHIP database and help improve our understanding of severe hail events. We’re especially interested in accurate measurements, not estimates. When possible, please report:
- Maximum dimension (Z) — the largest distance across the hailstone
- X and Y dimensions — measured perpendicular to each other
- Weight (grams) — optional but extremely valuable
- Photos and notes on storm context or damage
