UPDATE From Fabian's Family
I received another email today. This one is from Marcelo, Fabian's brother. A true gentleman, like his brother. His email is attached below, with his approval to share with all.
On behalf of myself, I would also like to express my sincere thanks to those individuals who reached out to Fabian's family and also would like to say Thank You to the businesses here that have also chosen to show their support to this family.
Also, I would like to ask everyone that can and will, please consider helping out this family by making a donation through our website. We will continue to accept and forward the donations as long as they come in. Please let it suffice to say without going into details, the Guerra family, Sara and the two children, really need any support from us that we can give.
Thank you!

EMAIL:
Hi Dennis,
This is Fabian's younger brother, Marcelo. I wanted to reach out and thank you for your efforts last month to spread the word about my brother's death. I met Jim Hawkins at the memorial service, and I can't begin to tell you how touching it was to hear about how well-regarded he was in the community. The remembrances that sprang up in those immediate hours and days after we all found out were as much of a solace as anything could be at the time, and as I go back and re-read them now they really stand out as testaments to the kind of man he was and the way he lived his life and brought joy and fellowship to his friends and family.
The family is now in the process of trying to get back to normal. Or, more accurately, trying to define what a new "normal" really means and looks like. That goes from the mundane parts of everyday life such as mowing the lawn, to the more daunting financial changes that face a suddenly single parent of two children.
================Additional:
I think some of us in his family didn't fully appreciate the depth of his
involvement in storm chasing. It always seemed like a unique hobby to me,
and a good way to get out into the country. But looking at his photographs,
and hearing about the real sense of community among his friends was a real
eye-opener for me. I'm glad he pursued this passion with commitment and
gusto, as he pursued so much in life! Feel free to post whatever from my
email you think will resonate with folks on the blog.
You hit the nail on the head in describing each dollar having been given
with great memories of Fabian. That amplifies its value. The rest of the
family is rallying around some of the immediate needs (like summer camp,
car, etc.)
