I saw this blog entry from a local news station Meteorologist and can honestly say I've never heard of it or the successful tests. NOAA doesn't seem too interested. Perhaps they're done playing god after the cloud seeding experiments.

What I'd like to know is what damages will having tons upon cubic tons of this gel on everything going to do? Then will the gel break down and release all this mosture back into the air making things worse than nature intended? I sure hope nobody decides to fund this project.

Interestingly according to Wikipedia, "Some research indicates that polyacrylamide can degrade under normal environmental conditions, releasing acrylamide, a known nerve toxin." The media stories about this stuff are remarkably shallow and they seem to bite on all the showmanship, including the claim about it dissolving harmlessly in salt water. Fair enough, but hurricanes do rain out phenomenally on land. If there's the potential for acrylamide to fall on someplace like Houston I think some serious questions need to be asked.

This idea has been floating around for years....I think it's more of a ploy to get grant money, etc. Or someone who just doesn't seem see the whole picture.

What a dumb idea. This stuff makes me think of the material used in baby diapers to soak up urine. I don't understand what drives a person to think of such of things. Dump a diaper into the atmosphere .. Thats exactly what it is.

Sounds like they are just giving this a test....but one test leads to other tests....and maybe some tests to go along with it that we "shouldnt know about" wink wink.....
I could also see this stuff if it doesnt biodegrade at all causing moisture content problems in the soil it falls on how would you remove such a huge amount of it over such a large area safely as well. That is interesting tho Tim....the whole nerve toxin idea. Maybe the whole chemtrail conspiracy theory isnt so whacked out and 3am on george nory coast to coast am as we thought.
This would better be used to soak up flood waters in peoples homes........maybe I choud call the patent office.
