• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Dash Cam Suggestions

Hello Aaron: I have been using a Street Guardian SG9665Gc for the last several years and have had good luck with it. I checked Amazon and found them selling for 119.95 vs.3 which is a lot less than I paid for mine so the price must have dropped. For more information go to "DashCam Talk" -lots of info there. Also lot of views on You Tube. I also upgraded my sd from 32 gb to 128gb. A new folder is created about ever 5 to 6 minutes with date so information on a specific time is easier to locate. The cam also comes with a very long cord and instillation nylon tool and instructions on how to conceal the cord under the top window trim. Hope this helps. Jim

James, I picked up a ROVE R2-4K after liking the screen shot you posted. My dash cam was getting pretty long in the tooth!
I am between getting the Rove R2 or the Rexing v1 2160p. I need to switch it between 2 vehicles depending on time of year so I am leaning towards the Rove R2 as it comes with suction cup and a sticky mount. I also like that you can rotate the camera for different angles. But does it vibrate more not being pressed against the windshield and I am wondering if it won't hold position in an accident. Also does it turn on when you start the car? Footage looks good from both cameras and I believe they both have Parking/Accident detection.

Related, but not quite the same, how about GoPro? Are they able to do a good enough job of capturing storms? My chase partner is thinking of getting one.

Purchased a ROVE 4K Pro last month and have done some testing. Very impressive picture. Excellent customer service. Some issues with interior reflections off the windshield I still need to figure out -- a positioning fix -- not a camera issue. Would be nice if it had a built-in polarizer. BlackVue cams are very good but I did not want to drop that much money and they are a big target for theft vs. less expensive cameras.

Yeah, I don't want to spend that much on a BlackVue either. I have GoPros but I don't want to fiddle with a camera to turn it on. Does the Rove 4k Pro turn on with the car Warren?
