• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

I'm hoping I can post this comment without being attacked personally... but if you don't want your stuff stolen, manipulated, edited, or otherwise fall into someone else's hands; keep it off the internet.

So I guess we should leave our car in the garage so it won't get broken into?
I guess women should leave their purses at home so they don't get snatched?
I guess we shouldn't carry money in fear we might get robbed?

That's poor reasoning and a poor excuse Billy. Not attacking you, just the goofy comment to your solution to the problem.

Nothing "personal" but thats like saying the criminal is the victim here. What this guy is doing is illegal. I know for some here on ST that hasnt been an issue they cared about but this isnt a video or picture being posted on YouTube. this is a live feed being rerouted. Its like a TV station using a CNN feed and claiming its their own newscast. Not to mention the revenue being lost by the chaser. I hope not only do they have to pay retribution but the cheif Met is charged with grand theft and video piracy and the stations FCC license is suspended. Only then will crap like this stop.

Jason had it exactly right. Why should we be afraid to do what we do becuase some lame jackass might steal our stuff?? I guess I shouldnt even own a PC or have internet so nobody could hack my systme and get my personal information. For that matter I shouldnt have a credit card or even a social security number that somebody could steal and use. Give me a freakin break. We make excuses for the thief instead of bringing the hammer down on them hard. But ist hard to keep the public from stealing our work when we cant even stop some of our own members from doing it.

Me, I don't personally care because most of my stuff is crap anyway. But for the few really proud photos and videos I have, I do not post them anywhere; period.

Many of you have stuff that would sell and make you good money. And it's easy for anyone of almost any age to play around with it. We all know the web is just not a safe place no matter the copyright notices.

That is all. Please color me done on this topic.

A lot of people seem to have this philosophy about photos on the internet. I have made a lot of money from a lot of people who had this philosophy.

that site has a notation that if one of these are your shots, drop them an email and they will credit you with the shot....like that makes it ok to steal the picture!

I have to agree with those who withhold certain great shots or video from the web. Last year, I ended up being the only videographer at a historic fire at an amusement park and got some fantastic footage...while I posted a crappy windows media version for local use by the fire departments, Ive never posted the broadcast quality version for fear that someone would steal it. The smoldering park ruins were used as a setting in the new "end of the world" movie "The Road" and they had to come to me for the fire footage..and it cost them!

Not so much of a report as a question. When did "the community" become tolerant of noobs using stolen images as avatars on here?

anyone is welcome to steal my avatar....:D

just reverse the colors....I like mine since it's bright and easy to find when scrolling through long threads and posts.

Umm ... Jason, just FYI ... The Weather Channel stole your Weather Warrior. ;)

Everyone might want to do a check of efootage.com. I'm not sure how they got it, but I found one of my videos listed in their catalog for sale.

Copyright infringement everyone check for Video on Efootage

Thanks for the tip on efootage...Dustin Wilcox alerted me to some footage he found of Sean McMullen's. I inspected the clip pretty closely and it is not from my website but rather a newsclip that has been copied. Regardless it is copyright infringement and will be dealt with. BTW this is on page 5 under a search "tornado". http://efootage.com/clip_list.php?s...uery=tornado&search_cat_id=&clips=&page_num=4Right above Sean's clip entitled Twister behind house is a clip called Girardeau, MO...the news clips copy is really evident in the last frame of this clip where it shows reveals a ghost image, "fade in" of the news anchor and background.
