• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

I have been thinking back over the 23 years I have been chasing and I dont ever recall a period like we are having right now with 10 consecutive chase days with tornados. By the time we get through the 3 day outlook on the SPC we could have 12 straight days of chasing in the plains. These arent just your average slight risk 2% tornado days either. We have had numerous high and moderate risks. 2 highs, 6 moderate, and 2 slights. A total of 264 tornado reports.

5-22-08 High risk - 48 tornados
5-23-08 Moderate - 64 tornados
5-24-08 Moderate - 13 tornados
5-25-08 Moderate - 53 tornados
5-26-08 Moderate - 4 tornados
5-27-08 Slight - 5 tornados
5-28-08 Slight - 3 tornados
5-29-08 High - 57 tornados
5-30-08 Moderate - 17 tornados
5-31-08 Moderate - ???
6-01-08 slgt/mod? - ??
6-02-08 Slight - ??

So much for May 2008 being a bust. For those of us that were lucky enough to plan our vacation for the last 2 weeks of May it was the jackpot. Wonder what June holds for us :)

Anybody else who is better at research or memory know of such an active 10-12 days in the plains?

SPC has chances of severe weather into Friday which is 7 days away including today. So it looks to stay active for awhile. NWS is saying significant severe weather is possible for Iowa Tuesday so we may be in for another long night then.

and our trip was the FIRST two weeks of May :( Oh well, Marc and Sarah returned briefly and captured some of our best ever footage on the 23rd and 24th. I guess I can't complain. Wish I could have joined them. Congrats to all who have been out and good luck to those who will be chasing the coming days.
