• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Relief effort...

I am heading up a small relief effort to go to Coffeyville this Saturday, July 14th. We will be taking up toys and school supplies for children and youth. I would appreciate your thoughts & prayers and if you would like to help, please pm me. Thanks!

This is the town I grew up in ages ago. It is truly heartbreaking to see the photos and the video from the area news services.

However, this isn't the first time it's flooded like this in Coffeyville. Maybe not to this great extent, but I have seen flooding very close to this level many years ago. Unfortunately, Coffeyville sits in the lowest part of the state. Most of the town is built on the Verdigris Flood Plain.

I think the saddest part is that the town has been struggling for the past few years to even remain alive. Recession has hit this region extremely hard and Coffeyville has seen close to 50% of it's population leave over the past 20 years. This flood will be very hard to recover from for the city.

Jeff & Kathy, Your photos speak volumes to me. Most of the places you took photos I know very well. The one of the Regal Inn? Well, that was probably the best thing to happen to that place. In reality though, I know several residents on that particular side of town and know they will e struggling to recover. Coffeyville is the one that made the news though. Independence was also very hard hit, as well as points east in the farmland areas. I also know several folks in those areas. The entire region around there is basically a big swamp right now. I hope they will be able to recover from this, but it almost appears that it will be more like N.O. and Katrina, only a much smaller scale.
