Chrome keeps losing me

Clearing browser cache fixed any issues I was having. If anyone doesn't know how to do this, please let me know as I can hunt down instructions for each of the various flavors of browsers to refer to.

I've noticed the same thing when going to 'home'. Going 'back' and navigating through other areas of the site I stay logged.

I was having the same problem Marc until recently. I have bookmarks that I use and I went through the ones I use regularly to make sure they were correct and using http vs https. That finally got me where I needed to be and stopped the madness. Here they are for the most common pages:

Home: http://stormtrack.org/
Forums: http://stormtrack.org/community
New Posts: https://stormtrack.org/community/find-new/245391/posts
Recent Activity: https://stormtrack.org/community/recent-activity/

If it keeps up and is more widespread than we know I'll have to look into it further.

What was happening to me is when Chrome syncs the bookmarks it was changing them unbeknownst to me. I deleted and added them again and it stopped. I hope it works, if not let me know.

So I reset my bookmark a few times on my PC, but I have to re-login more often than not.

Cleared cache and history.

Not a big deal, but still happening, FYI.

I'm sorry to hear that it isn't working as expected. Just so I know:

1. What type of device or PC are you using?
2. O/S and version number
3. and Chrome version

Please let me know.

I too am having pretty constant issues with this the last couple of weeks.

My setup:

HP Z400 Workstation
Windows 10 Pro
Chrome: Version 48.0.2564.116 m (64-bit)

I'll be looking into this over the next several days and will update everyone when I have something important to share. I believe you guys (so don't worry) because it's happening to me as well. It seems even worse with Safari on iOS for me and it's becoming a PITA!

I researched this yesterday and realized rather quickly that other users of XenForo software have experienced this issue with Chrome and the fix involves 3 or 4 steps to (hopefully) fully implement a bullet proof solution. For starters it's the cookie that is set not the cache that is at the heart of the problem.

Please go into your Chrome settings, select Privacy, then select clear Cookies / Site Data. Afterwards close Chrome, reboot your PC and hopefully this should fix the initial issue. I remained logged into the forum overnight, which is a good start. The other 2 or 3 steps are backend file updates that are on me, so I'll work on that this week. Please let me know how it goes as you guys are my test group for now.

To those affected by this, I *believe* the issue has been sorted on the backend, so now would be a good time to delete your Stormtrack cookies (or all of them if you prefer), reboot your device, and let the system set a new cookie for you. This has been a very finicky fix to achieve, so I do appreciate the patience you've demonstrated. Please let me know if you're still having issues.

Thanks,
Mark

I did as you suggested, Mark, deleting my cookies and rebooting. I am still getting issues with getting logged out frequently.

Okay, I have one other option to try. I'll put that into place and post back most likely tomorrow to give it one more try. If that fails I'll bring in the big guns to see what else could be misfiring with this.
