ChaserCon 2010 ***Official Thread***

I am at home wishing I was at the conference but the streaming is the next best thing. Totally enjoying the live stream. I missed a couple of talks due to a prior commitment and will watch them later on the archives. I definitely recommend signing up. It's very inexpensive.

Bill, I saw your shots in Jon Davies presentation from the June 7 storm. Very nice shots, makes me wish I got out ahead of that storm instead loitering around underneath it. I'd have to say (along with probably most people) that Tim Marshall's talk was the most entertaining, but had lots of good info as well. Very informative talks from Jon Davies and Josh Wurman as well. It was nice seeing their analysis of events that I had actually chased as well as the radar data from Vortex 2.

Good day all,

So far and so good ... Excellent speeches on the June 5 and 7 (09) stuff!

Tim Marshalls's touch of the "May Tricks" was awesome ... I wonder if that term will stick like SDS or "Bear's cage"? Good job, Tim!

Impressive turn out too...

I wish I was there... :(

I know the Con is being streamed and then archived, and I am going to be watching them tomorrow and this next week... but could there be any chance for a DVD of those videos?

You could sell them, you know. :D

That's probably why not... SS would be making money off the presenters - at least here you get it for a week then it's gone, so more likely to get people to attend or subscribe to the streaming. No way a presenter would sign off on unlimited viewings...

I'm sure everyone is having a super time. I had to work so that precluded me from being there. Ironically, I will be out in Winter Park and Denver from Thurs. thru Sat. of this upcoming week as my daughter is there for a ski trip.
If only this could have been a week later.. I could have made it. I do hope to be at TESSA this year.

It's been a very good time, lots of good discussions and speakers, I was able to learn a lot more from this experience. I wish I had more time to talk to other chasers though!

Right now im in the spotters class with my fiance, this is way more helpful and easier to understand for her, so that's a good thing as well.

Looking forward to the upcoming season even more so now! :)

My ChaserCon ticket (along with Vazquez's forecasting class) was my wife's anniversary present to me this past year. Thanks to Ryan McGinnis for hauling me there and back.

A big thanks to all of the presenters and organizers. Most entertaining: Tim Marshall's Matrix (May Tricks) presentation (no surprise there) and a close 2nd to Chris Novy's presentation on Safety/Chasing Responsibly. I'd give the vote for Most Educational to Jon Davies (was very glad he had two presentations, as there was very high quality information in both). My Most Thought-Provoking goes to Dr. Eric Rasmussen's "Think Different" presentation (my title, not his) on tornado-genesis and supercells.

Was pleased to meet a number of you (won't name you to avoid offending somebody I might forget!) Picked up a copy of the new Vazquez forecasting book and a CD of 25 years of Stormtrack Magazine from Tim Marshall. Topped off the weekend by picking up a Sigma 10-20mm for my Pentax from a Craigslist seller in Littleton before leaving town.

A SUPER weekend that has me stoked for the coming year in more ways than one!

Thanks all who made this event happen, and those attendees making it worth while.

My pictures of the event can be seen at the link below...

I see my truck has been coined as the "Whackermobile" at this year's convention. Kinda catchy in my opinion! :-D

WHACKERMOBILE is a general term many of us use to describe a vehicle with lots of stickers, lights etc etc. I wouldn't feel too proud. I assume its my fb page you are referencing.

Oh, I wouldn't worry too much about it Chris as long as it doesn't end up as the "poster child" in a lightbar thread, lol! It was good to meet you and your crew at the hotel in Hays as you guys were leaving for Denver. I was the guy who introduced himself as you were leaving that morning, hope you enjoyed the trip.

Just taking it in stride Adam. It's not the first time my truck has been called such

Tim, it was nice meeting you too! Hopefully you can make it to Denver next year...it was a blast. Maybe we'll meet again before then on the Plains during storm season :D

Oh, and Danny...if my sister drives its 3. If I drive its 1. Anyone else doesn't need one :D
