The Colorado Department of Transportation is preparing for the weekend snowstorm across the state.
CDOT crews will start 12-hour snow shifts starting at 3:30 p.m. on Friday until the storm ends.
There will be between 80 to 100 snow plows out in the Denver-metro area rotating on the 12-hour shifts. Depending on the temperatures outside, crews will use a liquid deicer if it is warmer. If not, CDOT says it will use a mineral-based product that helps cut through the ice and snow.
