I think once the survey is done in NC. The count might go up to 6-7 confirmed.
This was rather unexpected as far as long lived tornadoes. I knew we had a chance for short lived nados. Here one minute, gone the next. But not long lived ones (38 mile long path). SPC had nothing until later on that afternoon upgrading to slight. After the tornadoes dropped. No tornado watch was issued.
Yes, I live in western side of Laurens County. But I was home with a sick 102 temp little boy. Wifey was visiting her parents. Sad, might have had a Tree-Nado...

Happened to be in Waynesville, NC that weekend, well west of the action. Still I was tempted to chase, but not on a family trip. Anyway I am surprised no watch. One could debate 10% or not, but a watch seemed reasonable. LLJ was progged well ahead of the main circulation days ahead. Believe the Escarpment played a role there; plus, it adds lift. Nate NC set-up looked similar to the Harvey remains in Alabama Aug. 31. Cells were well forecast to be a broken line ahead of the rain shield. Hi-res models had all of the above. I can't talk trash though. I was sitting in Waynesville and did not even try, lol.
