I remember That Richard Kirby (BBC) filmed a waterspout over Lake Victoria, Uganda. Billions of flies were soaked into the funnel. I found a picture here (scroll down to the end of the page):

I think you forgot gnats. Nothing like being a kid on a summer evening riding your bike full speed and running into a thick swarm of gnats. Eyes, mouth, nose, ugg! I'd make them the F2. =)
