I was looking for some blank surface maps that did not have any iso's or any markings other then just the surface station informations. Is there a good site to get these as well as having a side by side comparision place to see how close you have drawn the fronts and other iso's on it. Hope that makes sense tired and can hardly keep my eyes open.

Basically want to practice putting the information on the charts on my own but would like to have a source to compare to.

Additionally, there's the maps on StormEyes.

The hard drive used to produce these maps crashed the morning of April 28th. I hope to have the maps back online within the next week or so. The charts update twice per hour at :12 and :25 after. Note, winds are in knots and MSLP denoted in mb.

THX!

[EDIT] As of tonight (5/4) most of the sectors are back online [/EDIT]

Here's a sector I don't have a direct link to, other than on my KS.html wx page, containing only 1st and 2nd order obs. An easy way to view the synoptic picture across the majority of the 'alley'. Note, standard station model depicted. Winds in knots.

You can roll your own with Digital Atmosphere, complete with circle-style station plots and ICAO codes. This is done in the software under Map > Add Overlay > Station Reference. I have a couple of stacks of 11 x 17" blank maps printed out with a surplus HP Laserjet 5 printer ($300)... they're great for jotting down odds and ends noticed while doing a morning analysis.
