Its running stable on my moto Droid with no force closes so far. Obviously not much weather to try it out on but all radar sites I've tried are pulling up. Good start so far!

Hmmm - I tried a reboot - but no luck. Will wait to hear if anyone else is getting the forced close issue. I checked out some of his other apps - pretty cool. Downloaded the winter weather one. :)

I use Radar Scope on my Ipad and I love it. However, always looking for something better, of course!

You have to BUY a beta version?

You don't have to buy anything. You are given the opportunity to buy a copy of the app that is in beta. When the final version is released all you have to do is update. No need to buy twice. The app is tied to your Google account and is yours to use forever.

I got it and it sits on BR spinning away. I'm not getting any radar sites. Is it just that slow server across seas I hope? Let me know if you want any debug output or anything...

Yes the server is just really slow sometimes I am looking into getting that moved to the United States. I just wrote up a nice app road-map today and this will be fixed in the near future I am also looking into other revisions based upon how much money I can recoup.

okay cool I know you had mentioned it but just wanted to be really sure that was it :) it looks cool Mike. I think input so far would be to make some icons smaller and that top part where the spinny thing is smaller too so we get more map view :)

Thanks!!!

I played with the beta briefly over the weekend. For an early beta version, I have to say I'm impressed. Looked good, other than a few crashes and the slow download speeds.

My one gripe thus far is with the velocity color table. I think a green-to-red color scheme similar to that used in AWIPS and GRLevelX would be much easier for most users to read.

I see this as a perfect app for checking up on the weather while I'm around town on 3G or wi-fi, but still not the most practical for chasing due to the bandwidth-intensive Google Maps interface. Hopefully you see good sales, and later on you can implement a more stripped-down, black-background, GR3-style display as an option. I'll certainly be buying a copy once the bugs and slow download issues are worked out!

How long have you had it go before it loads? I have had it going a few times for about 40 minutes each time and just spins and tries to load BR, Whether its 3g, 4g or wifi I can't seem to get it to load on my rooted Evo 2.2 Froyo.

Digging into the app a little more, I did get a few force closes when zooming in on maps. This mostly occurred using pinch to zoom and not the actual zoom button. It's just a beta version, so I know it's going to be buggy, but I'm also glad to be in from the beginning and look forward to seeing the app grow over time.

I downloaded it on Saturday. I'm liking it so far, and being that it is still early beta, I know it's only gonna get better. I'm really looking forward to future updates. Thanks Mike. :)

What would it take to put together a weather radio app?

I was thinking about this today that I dont always have my weather radio on me but I do always have my phone. It would be nice to just be able to click it and have live streaming weather radio.

Maybe this is your next app Mike? :D
