Annoying cursor behavior in Firefox

I was composing a reply a few minutes ago in one of the threads here, and while using the cursor keys to move around my message, instead of moving the cursor back through my text it backspaced the entire webpage to the previous one, and when I moved back, my text was gone. :( This is in Firefox 7.

I'm wondering whether anyone has noticed similar annoyances in the post editor. The bug reports about this are kind of difficult to search for, but I found something here that described it well. We have V4.1.10, which was to have fixed the issue, and it obviously did not.

I'm wondering if this is the straw in the camel's back that finally sends me to Chrome.

I've not had this problem that I can remember. Also, I'm currently on version 11.0, so perhaps an upgrade is needed. The only thing I'm aware of is backspace causing the browser to go back a page, but not when a text box is active.

Ive had that issue, and its not limited to firefox. It just happens if you "exit" the text box and then hit backspace. either you hit tab, or if youre on a laptop, you do what i keep doing.. you inadvertently tap the mousepad while you are typing, which deselects the text entry box. its not a bug..

There is a plugin for vBulletin that auto-saves the contents of the text box every few seconds, and if you leave the page and come back it gives you the option to restore the saved text.. might want to look into that.
