Ahh, what a sight!!

It's a GREAT feeling to see the first towering cumulus of the season!! Already this morning there's an awesome looking tower going up on the western horizon. It's already 72° with a roaring south wind! Last week at this time there was 4" of fresh wet snow on the ground!!

Kind of interesting that this tower, which was about 15 miles to my west went on to become a rather impressive supercell that passed through Madison WI. This cell formed right on the leading edge of the best moisture tounge.

Isn't it blessed? Just the scent of that first true southerly flow changes the whole outlook. When we got our first storm in KC a few weeks ago, it seemed like everything just came alive - the birds started chirping, the daffodils opened out, and people began smiling again!

I hear you on the beautiful sights Joel. Went out spotting around 8:30 p.m. hear In Vienna, IL (one county north of the Ohio/Miss. River junction). Saw some BEAUTIFUL CG's on a svr warned storm just west of town. 5 minutes later I was greeted with my first hail of the season. (Just pea size, but hey, who's counting!?) Have seen towers up north all afternoon and finally having one come through here seems to have calmed the ole "SDS" down a notch.
