9/12/08 DISC: KS/MO

It figures. Normally I would have been out by about 12 from Olathe teaching chemistry and would have either seen reports on Stormtrack when I got home or heard about impending stuff in the car.

But I was asked to teach the rest of the day and caught up on grading. I was so caught up on finishing grading I did not look at reports or eventhink about and get out til around 5:30.

Then I hear about Eudora storm , the Desoto touchdown and more, hear the sirens and more.

Nice also by KMBC chopper too.

9/12/08 brief case study

Shawna and I had a birthday celebration planned for her son Zach Friday evening in north KC, so we missed the excitement (except for the Clay County sirens going off). Thanks Darin B. and Michael O. for sharing pics.

Nicely done Jon.

If only I had gotten out of the building a little earliier. I could have zipped East to Lawrence and possibly intercept at Eudora /Desoto like I do a lot.
By the time I heard about the storms, I was in my car .

Then I heard about storms near Lee Summit and Indepence but I would have been late I believe.

Anybody else on these storms or miss them like I did and why?
