This was one of the longer, stranger 24 hour chase days I've had. In a way it went on for 24 hours lol. I'm not retyping much here as I'm getting rather tired of typing.

Twilight storm sw of Schuyler NE....Schuyler providing the coloring.
A completely nasty cg filled storm entering town as I got home. I can't think of a time I've ever see so many close bolts. Wish I'd gotten there sooner and was able to setup under a gas station canopy and knew they were going to do what they did.
This one was actually "quick draw'd" while I was simply trying to shoot the storm. The dots aren't on the lens, they are rain drops falling, being lit up by the flash. Since I quick draw'd it, I had to only capture the very end moments of the duration of the strike. I know this couldn not be much of a span of time as I was on 800 ISO and wide open at the time. To give an idea of how close it was, I'm at 13mm here lol. Best guess says it hit near a Super Foods store about 1.5 blocks away. These were happening often, but it was starting to rain, making it impossible to get them...especially with no real view. Later one hits even closer, would have been right in my frame where I was then shooting from under a gas station canopy....BUT....I'd just taken the camera back down to check the lens. It hit so damn close. That was so frustrating to see happen. I was then using 100 ISO and stopped down.
More stuff later, around 5 a.m......I was still here because I had killed my car battery and it wouldn't start.
And to finish off this long day, I go to sleep around 7:30 a.m......wake up at 10:30 to an apartment full of smoke and a strong electrical fire odor. Called the landlord, who soon called the fire department(we couldn't figure out where the fire was and thought maybe it was wiring in the wall after that storm). The compressor to my fridge is now 100% toast.
