Looks like another day of storms with high wind in the midwest, so thought I would start a FCST thread for today. MDT out from SPC from east-central MO to northwest OH/southern MI. RUC is showing CAPE of up to 3000 in parts of the area, with strong low and mid-level wind fields, mostly unidirectional from the southwest. This setup again favors strong straight-line winds, though I would not be completely surprised to see an isolated tornado south of the STL area if the RUC verifies, where some backing of the surface winds toward evenign is possible. But no doubt the main threat is straight-line winds.

My ability to chase is limited today due to early evening plans, but if the storms arrive in this area by early afternoon, as now appears likely, I will probably be out locally. Looks like the STL area could get hit in the afternoon and then again tonight, much like yesterday's situation in the Chicago area.
