The supercell over Boone Co. looks like it is establishing a good circulation on the back updraft near the Boone-Greeley Co. line. The VILS are pretty good and would expect at least some baseball hail soon from that supercell. It has that good look Dustin

08/20/07 NOW: KS,NE,SD,IA,MO

Some very inpressive storms in NE right now. Looks like a few tornadoes are possible in Eastern NE and Western IA. Anyone chasing? Thoughts?

Hey Brian are you chasing? Someone said Cape was at 8000 in Eastern NE how will that affect our storms today?

(Mods remove my other thread plz)

Not chasing today, but the EHI's are pretty insane right now nw of Omaha. If that supercell I mentioned prev. can move east-southeast into that environment...things could get pretty interesting. Plus there is a nice supercell I just noticed out in the W.Kansas area that has some interesting radar structure in NW Finney Co.

Update: Craven off the SPC site is over 150 now just south of the Boone-Greely Co. supercell. Wow.

SevereStudios.com Chase Team is in Albion, NE in Boone County, NE. Nice supercell. We are currently experiencing heavy rain. Low visibility now, but nice structure as we approached. Lots of Cloud to Ground lightning. Trying to stay towards the rear of this storm. ChaseCam is up.

We will try to update through the night.

Thanks!

Update

Near Bellgrade, NE going to Fullerton and west to reposition. Had something trying to form a wall cloud. Cell looks great on radar still. SigTor still a 7 in the area and a 150 on Sig/Svr. Lots of daylight left.

Storm isn't all that impressive visually, seems to be up and down quite a bit. I think lack of surface winds in the area are not helping the updraft much. Just now storm is taking on good structure agian!!

Looking mean now!!! Decent structure and we know have southeerly surface winds.

Storm spotters reporting a tornado 8-9 miles east of Columbus NE. Doplar radar confirms strong rotation with this storm.

Wall cloud with funnel up and down near Fullerton. 1/3rd of the way down at one point. Now repositioning. Quarter size hail now and rain. ChaseCam still running. Minor connection issues.

Had excellent position on a County Road when that storm got interesting, nice Meso finally formed a wall cloud as the rotation really started to pick up. No true funnels with the storm all though the wall cloud was a ground hugger. Storm is slowly dieing a slow death, probably would have been a lot more interesting had convection not fired to its East. Gonna be a pretty neat sunset here in a little bit with mammutus filled sky.

77 VIL over NE Russell Co. KS moving into Lincoln Co. and no warning? This supercell is a big one. If it's not dropping golfballs, it will have a tremendous outflow soon. Looks plenty severe on all radar angles I have checked.
