6/22/07 NOW: IA / NE / CO

The severe storm just NW of Lincoln, Nebraska looks visually quite beautiful (and me without my camera!). Strong updraft, flat (high) base, very heavy precip shaft -- just beautiful. Radar shows it sitting in place and ever so slightly drifting south. Just magnificent. She's pretty much all alone out there, so hopefully she'll do something soon.

Scored some coin in terms of pennies, nickels, dimes, and a few quarters... hail-size that is... just east of Denver this afternoon. A rapidly developing line of storms exploded after 4pm. Storms moved east and are currently ingesting their own inflow and weakening to nothing... am returning home a happy and iced man!

I saw a VERY brief landspout tornado East of Deer Trail on I70, CO. at 18:00 (approx) - no pictures as I was driving. I also have heard of two reports of Landspouts near to Denver Int airport today..

Today was quite a bonus as it was my last chase day and I was just working my way over to the Denver airport for the flight home.
