It blows my mind how far away you can see things on the Plains. I noticed the huge "mountain range" of convection in the distant SSW while bike riding and just looked it up on KS radar. It's right at Dodge City (apparently) which is 250 miles from here.

Childress, TX has a big supercell pass over a short time ago. Considerable damage has been reported in town, although it's not sure if it was wind or tornado related. Spotters reported a tornado near Childress just prior to this. Two mesonet station nearby reported, one with winds over 80mph

Reports coming in of possible tornado damage in Childress on that 1 isolated supercell in the SE panhandle. Spotters reported a tornado in Childress at 8:38. Power is out and 287 is closed due to semis overturned.

Also damage from winds as high as 80mph came through afterward. Just got off the phone with my aunt whome I had told to take shelter minutes before. Her house has taken a direct hit with all her windows blown out, trees down and roof damage. The couplet passed directly over her house according to GR3. She said she could hear a roar seconds before her windows blew out. She was under the bed.

edit..I see David beat me too it. In my rush I typed this up right after it happend and forgot to hit enter.. lol

If the hail positioning is right, Matt Hughes/Brandon Ivey should be pretty close to the hail core right now. Haven't see a hail report for awhile, but GR2AE has it estimated at 3.14" just to the west of Anthony in Harper Co, KS
